Wyoming toolkit

Year after year, overdose has remained a leading factor of maternal mortality in Wyoming and across the United States. From 2018-2020 there were a total of 13 maternal deaths during pregnancy or within one year after pregnancy. Six of these deaths were determined to be pregnancy-related, and all 6 involved substance use.

All 6 deaths were deemed preventable. - through better medical care, mental health care or substance- use treatment.

Wyoming Perinatal Quality Collaborative

The Wyoming Perinatal Quality Collaborative has partnered with MOMs+ to assess the current landscape for treatment and recovery of perinatal substance use disorders (SUDs) in Wyoming, and focus on helping birthing hospitals statewide provide access to treatment and recovery for this vulnerable population.
